A few days and the Muslims in all over the globe cheer and joy and revival of the year of the Holy Prophet, which is the tenth of the first argument on the day of Eid al-Adha.Accordingly, the Egyptian Fatwa House announces that Wednesday, August 23, is the first day of the month of Dhul Hijjah for 1438 Hijri, and that on Thursday, 31 August 2017 is the ninth of Dhul Hijjah, the day of Arafa, and that on Friday, the first of September 2017, Is the tenth of Dhu al-Hijjah, the first day of Eid al-Adha.

Eid al-Adha

Eid al-Adha is an Islamic festival to commemorate the willingness of Ibrahim to follow Allah's command to sacrifice his son Ishmael. Muslims around the world observe this event. As for the virtue of the ten nights of Dhu'l-Hijjah, Dar Al-Ifta asserted that the ten days of Dhu'l-Hijjah and the nights of the Prophet are honorable and preferred days, in which the work is intensified and the ijtihad in worship is increased.

It is forbidden to fast on the tenth day of Dhu'l-Hijjah, because it is the day of Eid al-Adha. It is forbidden to fast on Eid al-Fitr, Eid al-Adha and the days of Tashreeq, three days after the day of slaughter, because these days prevent fasting for the hadeeth of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) He said: The Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: The days of Tashreeq are days of eating and drinking and remembrance of Allaah. Narrated by Muslim.

The tenth days, although we fast for only 9 days, because the day of Eid or the Day of Sacrifice comes in the favor of these days with the abundance of the male and the slaughter of the sacrifice, it became 10 days

Sacrifice day

The event honors the trial and triumphs of the Prophet Abraham. One of the main trials was to kill his only Son on the command of Allah. After hearing which he got ready to do as per the almighty’s will. When he was just about to complete the action, Allah revealed that the sacrifice has already been given. He showed that love for almighty was above everything for Abraham and he can lay down his life and life of his loved ones,Before he sacrificed his son God intervened by sending his angel Jibra'il (Gabriel), who then put a sheep in his son's place. In commemoration of this, an animal is sacrificed and divided into three parts: the family retains one third of the share; another third is given to relatives, friends and neighbors; and the remaining third is given to the poor and needy.

Sheep prices today

This year, the "Sacrifices" did not keep away from the  rises in prices in the Egyptian market since the floating of the pound, where the average price of the lamb was about 3000 to 4,500 pounds, and the kilo price for live sheep ranges from 65 to 65 pounds per kilo, while last year prices ranged from 2,500 to 3500 Pounds for sheep by weight. So there is expected to be less buying due to this increase, there is a consensus to reduce the profit margin during Eid al-Adha to avoid the recession as much as possible.

Finally ,we would like to express our congratulations to the Egyptian people and to all the heads of Arab and Islamic countries and their kings and all Muslims everywhere , and we wish them good health and well-being , and enjoying Fatah (rice, meat, red sauce) the favorite dish in Eid al-Adha.
