Destiny 2's exclusive Beta Shines a Light on a Potential Game of the Year

The Destiny 2 beta finally arrived, and it's a promising glimpse of what Bungie's been building for almost three years. After playing & see alpha Destiny’s environments if perhaps a bit overlooked, aspect of the game, especially as the DLCs became more and more fleshed out. it would be safe to assume that its sequel will continue the Bungie tradition of subtly rethinking what aliens and their creations should look like. Perhaps games like Anthem will expand on the methods that make Destiny’s aliens such enigmas, but until then, Destiny has proven that it is quite capable of quietly shifting the bar for sci-fi environments, and it is up to other developers to follow along
Destiny 2's exclusive content was revealed at Sony's E3 press conference tonight. "We are also hard at work with our friends at Bungie optimizing Destiny 2 for the PC, which we will be releasing in all its glory on October 24". On July 21st, ALL players can join in via an open beta that will last until July 23rd. A PC beta is planned for August. Destiny 2 is out on PS4 and Xbox One September 6th, with the release of the PC version slated for October 24th.

The game Destiny 2 on PS4 will get some extra perks that will include a few bunch of unique items and a mission.

Players of a certain age will notice the mission's stylistic similarities to earlier Bungie games, like Halo 3: ODST and Halo 2, which also dropped players into crumbling urban environments besieged by alien shock troopers. It certainly feels like the original 2014 Destiny, but the visuals are more suited to current-gen hardware, and there's a richer sense of texture to the world.
PlayStation 4 users who have pre-ordered Destiny 2 will be granted early access to the game's long-awaited beta. Xbox One users who have the game pre-ordered will be able to join in on the fun the following day, July 19th, at the same. This marks the public's first chance to go hands-on with the eagerly awaited sequel to Bungie's 2014 shared-world shooter, which broke records with its $500 million launch day.

The beta consists of three components:
the game's first campaign mission, "Homecoming"; a cooperative multiplayer Strike ("The Inverted Spire"); and the Crucible, Destiny's online player-versus-player arena. Players won't need a PlayStation Plus or Xbox Live Gold subscription to play the story mission, but they'll need it in order to access the Strike or Crucible. The Crucible portion of the beta will showcase "Countdown," a new round-based mode in which players try to arm or disarm a bomb, with teams switching sides after each round – the first team to six points wins.

Destiny 2's story begins with players answering a distress call from the Last City on Earth. The Cabal, a space-faring race of warmongering "space turtles," have arrived at the gates of humanity's final refuge seeking revenge for all the bloodshed committed by players in the first game over the last few years.

When you first log in
you'll be prompted to select your Guardian's class (Titan, Hunter, or Warlock) and then you jump right into the opening campaign mission, "Homecoming." There's no character-creation screen, which makes sense for a beta in which your progress is purely ephemeral; you'll be starting over from scratch when the full game launches in September anyway.

what does Destiny mean to me?

  • I've spent my time in Destiny . I've sunk hours into games before, but there was something about Bungie's space shooter that grabbed me hard: the addictive mix of moment-to-moment gun play and endless loot chasing, the story and world so inscrutable you
  • This is why Destiny is more than just a game. It provides a platform to connect with people, to discuss topics, to support each other.
  • It’s the game that keeps bringing me back day after day just to see what exciting changes/additions Bungie has made. They always seem to come up with new ways to get the community to work together towards a common goal
  • The game play, the graphics… it was all amazing. After two weeks or so, I planned on raiding for my first time as I had hit level 26. We managed to find a group through LFG and we entered the Vault of Glass on normal, and to this day I am yet to experience something so much fun and challenging in gaming.

What do think ? what does destiny mean to you ? how will you spend your time without destiny ?How destiny make difference in your community & your life by the way ?
